Zone Attributes
Zone attributes add metadata to each security zone, providing additional context for compliance evaluation by describing the classification, environment, compliance scope, and data sensitivity of traffic endpoints.
Available attributes
Each zone can be assigned four metadata attributes via dropdowns on the Zones tab:
| Attribute | Values | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Classification | public, internal, restricted, confidential | Data classification level of the zone |
| Environment | production, staging, development, testing | Deployment environment the zone belongs to |
| Compliance Scope | in-scope, out-of-scope, shared-services | Whether the zone falls within regulatory audit scope |
| Data Sensitivity | public, internal, sensitive, highly-sensitive | Sensitivity level of data stored or processed in the zone |
Attributes are optional. If unset, they default to empty and are omitted from evaluation context.
Setting attributes
- Navigate to the Zones tab.
- Select a zone or expand its details.
- Use the dropdown menus to set each attribute value.
- Attributes are saved as part of the zone configuration and included in zone CSV exports and session saves.
